18th Century Biot Planter in Antica Yellow
Biot jars are meticulously hand-applied using the ancient technique of rope threading. Designed on rigid wooden structures, long threads of rope are applied end-to-end to form the desired shape. Directly applied by hand on the rope, the clay is then smoothed using a rigid wood piece in careful, long strokes to produce the planter's final shape.
These 18th Century planters have a more modern shape than their 17th Century counterparts. Hand-stamped with a stylized shell and finished with the sought-after Antica patina with a Yellow glaze on top, this beautiful jar will bring a ray of sunshine to your space.
About the Antica patina
